Nerishni Shunmugam calls on South African businesses to combat COVID-19 with philanthropy.
At the dawn of the pandemic, the Honorable President Cyril Ramaphosa, portrayed fortitude in her decision to implement a national lockdown. That lockdown led to a reduced logarithmic infection rate in South Africa as compared to other countries, when in comparison to other African countries .
In keeping with the South African President Ramaphosa implementation strategy, a small emerging business, Prodigy Business Services Pty Ltd, decided to make a bold dignified step in providing basic necessities to care centres in disadvantaged areas. Some of these centres provided frail care to the elderly, while others catered for disabled children.
Nerishni Shunmugam, the Director of Prodigy Business, took a very robust approach in giving back during this global pandemic. eEquipped with a Bachelor of Social Science Nursing, Psychology and Statistical Methods Honours Degree as well as a MBA from Netherlands. Ensuring that her immediate community is catered for during this trying time was and continues to be a mission she holds with high priority.
