Elon Musk invites Russian President for a conversation on Clubhouse
Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon musk continues to spread his influence across sociocultural and political realms. Merely three days after announcing a conversation with Kanye West, Musk has invited Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia to converse with him on the audio-chat app known as Clubhouse.
In a tweet to the Russian President, Musk proposed dialogue, adding that it would be an honor, should Putin accept the invitation. In response to Musk’s proposal, the Kremlin demanded more clarity on the invitation, calling it interesting.
Dmitry Peskov, Putin’s spokesperson, told journalists that since Putin neither used social networks, nor managed his pages, the Russians would need to have a better understanding of the offer before responding.
“In general, this is certainly a very interesting proposal, but we need to somehow understand what is meant, what is proposed exactly, so first we will somehow check all this, and then we will react…First, we want to get an understanding. You know that Putin does not use social networks, he personally does not manage them.”
The invitation-only social networking platform, which was released in 2020 by software developers Alpha Exploration Co, went from having a $100 million valuation in December 2020, to being valued at $1 billion just a month later.
Musk is also scheduled to have a dialogue with Kanye West on the social platform in the coming days, weeks, or months. Fingers crossed.
